Carlsberg Malaysia is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its new beer, Carlsberg Smooth Draught. The celebration will go on until 30 June 2017. As part of its marketing, it is launching a nationwide promotion on beer for consumers.

Carlsberg Smooth Draught, dubbed by the company as “Probably the Smoothest Beer in the World”, is made available in a 580ml bottle throughout Malaysia last year. This was done after gathering consumers’ insights, that beer drinkers wished for “a smoother sensation of the draught beer”, which wasn’t readily available at that time.

Charles Wong, marketing director of Carlsberg Malaysia, said the product registered positive growth momentum after over 160,000 consumers sampled the new brew via massive sampling activations. The company has since built on the positive momentum by releasing 500ml cans and 320ml cans of Carlsberg Smooth Draught, making it more affordable and readily available to consumers.

Wong recently came on board following his stint as GM of Red Bull Malaysia. He replaced the previous marketing director, Juliet Yap.
